q: Do all printers have the same amount of cols and rows when line-printing raw text?

I don't know, and the table above is too small to make conclusions. I'll be adding printers as I come across them.

q: What does "P.C. orientation" mean?

Consists of two parts, an up/down orientation and a rotation. The up/down component describes which face is the one printed on ("up" means that the "up"-face of the paper, when lying in the paper cassette, is the one which receives the print). The rotation indicates which corner of the paper will end up being the upper-left corner when the paper is loaded from the "natural" position.

q: Brother HL-2070n?

Yep, it's pretty neat. Use the HP LaserJet Series PCL 6 CUPS driver in a pinch.

q: How do I print in landscape mode?

Like so:

lpr -o orientation-requested=4

Further printers TBD.
